Portfolio 2022 - Second Wave

Because 2022 yielded such an immense amount of high quality photos, this second gallery continues the showcase of that prolific season. Following the same technical approach introduced during the first wave, these images rely heavily on the inclusion of the Samyang 24mm f/1.8 and Samyang 45mm f/1.8 lenses.

By stepping back and adopting a landscape photography approach rather than a traditional portrait framing, the new gear allowed for a compressed background that fundamentally changed the perspective of the final images. The resulting layers between the subject, the light structures and the environment produce a much more interesting dynamic. The wider aperture also contributed significantly to cleaner files with lower ISO noise despite the challenging night conditions.
