Exploring technical portraiture through long exposure

This specific selection of images highlights a dedicated week of creative celebrity portrait photography conducted in Salento during 2019. The primary objective was to push the boundaries of environmental portraiture by integrating moving artificial light sources within naturally dark landscapes.

Operating exclusively at night we navigated challenging coastal environments to execute precise light-painting choreographies. The process required intense focus regarding spatial awareness, exposure times and dynamic framing. By relying strictly on long-exposure techniques rather than digital manipulation we produced defined geometric shapes and ethereal light trails that interact directly with the subject.

The collaboration demanded meticulous coordination between the camera settings and the physical movements of the light tubes. This gallery serves as a significant milestone in defining my current approach to professional portrait photography.
